Living room holiday styling & my top picks.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! This week I have been decorating my house for the holidays. I set out to create a warm and cosy space from one room to the next for a real hygge feel.

When it comes to my theme think Nordic winter meets woodland glam. Lets start with the biggest feature in any household, the tree.

I have a gold tipped tree to add that extra sparkle for the season wrapped with bright lights to highlight the sprays. I used mistletoe picks in my tree to create tones of green throughout. As someone who likes the minimal style, I chose not to add tinsel, garlands or even a tree topper for a more natural look but this is completely down to your style. My baubles were a mix of silver, gold, white and natural tones. My biggest style tip is, don't be afraid to play with textures on your tree! I chose to add hints of glass, fur, ceramic and wood amongst my plain baubles. A new colour for this year was a muted plum to tie in the deeper tones of my living room.

Keeping with the colour theme of my tree was important for the rest of the room. I chose moments of styling within the space that would compliment and balance each other. My IKEA Vittsjö unit had a festive face lift with some of my favourite decor for this year.

I was lucky to experience Pottery Barn in all its glory whilst in LA! I picked up this oversized bauble which has taken pride of place in my room and is my top pick for this year! Unfortunately, they are unavailable to ship to the UK just yet but you can still find some wonderful decor at the sister company, West Elm.

The tray comes from Sainsburys home and ties in with everything else in my room beautifully. It's minimal, textured and chic all in one. A perfect find! I recommend checking out the offers at Sainsbury's home right now as I picked up a couple of my baubles from there too, like the snowflake seen above. You can find it here for a great price!

An easy way to switch up your sofa for Christmas is by changing your cushion covers. It's a cheaper and more sustainable way to transform the room temporarily. In my case, it might be a more permanent fix! I found these amazing cushion covers from H&M Home and most of them can be used all year round. My favourite find was this faux fur cushion cover and at just £12.99 it was such a steal! However, I love the vintage feel of the Christmas cushion cover too. If changing the covers isn't for you but you still like this style, this wreath cushion from M&S is a great alternative.

I set out to create a log cabin retreat with a modern twist and I have fallen in love with how the whole room feels! I can't wait to drink hot chocolate with a festive film, all wrapped up.
